The objective was to make all material selections for a boutique hotel, according to the city where it was located.

• Our hotel is located in New Orleans.

• Culture, aesthetics, weather, were factors to be considered when designing and making selections.

• New Orleans is very colorful, eclectic, & extravagant, and weather is humid and rainy.

Floor plans to the main floor lobby area and to guest bedrooms & bathrooms were given

Selections included:

• Flooring materials

• Fabrics (upholstery, drapery, bedding)

• Bathroom fixtures (sink, toilet, shower, faucets)

• Cabinetry & countertops

• Wall treatments (paint or wallpaper).

We decided to go with an  Art Deco style.

Outcomes were a materials board with all selections, & a materials specifications binder.

All selections are appropriate for commercial use.
